Without the Netherlands...

Nobody can believe it, yet it has happened. The Netherlands haven't qualified for the World Championship 2018 in Russia. Although Robben scored in a 2:0 win against Sweden, the Netherlands performance wasn't enough to qualifiy. They would have needed a goal difference of 7 points to qualify. Starplayer Arjen Robben announced his retirement from the dutch national team in order to fully concentrate on his career at Bayern Munich. It was quite clear that he would take these steps considering his ages and the possibility of playing another big international cup would be the EM2020. Robben would be 36 by then, which even for him is probably to old.
