Super Timmy the Difference Against Syria


Australia hosted Syria in a knockout world cup qualifier last night, and Timmy Cahill proved the difference yet again, rescuing a declining Australia team from an embarrassing upset at the Allianz stadium. The tie was all locked up after 90 minutes, forcing the game into extra time. The turning point in extra time came when Mahmoud Almawas was sent off by the referee. Tim Cahilll proved to be the difference in the two teams scoring his second goal deep into the second half of extra time, giving Australia a 2-1 win and still a chance of making the 2018 World Cup.
