Germany wins against Aserbaidschan
The german team finished their world championship with a collossal 5:1 win over Aserbaidschan. As we have posted before, the team already qualified by beating Northern Ireland in the last game.
Two of the 5 goals were scored by Leon Goretzka, a 22-year old youngster ploaying for Schalke in the Bundesliga, in the 8th and 66th minute. Sandro Wagner is making his mark as a consistent scorer with yet another goal in the 54th minute. Antonio Ruediger and Emre Can put the finishing touches on the almost flawless 5:1 victory.
However, the first half of the game was far from perfect, as Sandro Wagner resumes. In his opinion, the team seemed unconcentrated and uncoordinated, however in the second half they came back strong a scored a couple of nice goals.
Team Coach Jogi Loew views his teams performance similarily. A first half that was unstructured and had many unprecise passes, wrong runs and unfortunate positional play. They turned it around in the second half and did a great effort. However, Loew says, it is not sufficient to take the qualifications as a standard as more difficult teams await them in the world cup.
